Hardcopy books for each section.

NIE provide hardcopy books for each section of the UMAT and are the only UMAT prep provider to do this. Why is this important? Apart from the unrestricted access to YOUR books, the UMAT is a paper based exam, not taken online, so we believe this is the best way to prepare. The books included are: 1 Logical Reasoning, 2. Understanding People, 3. Non-verbal Reasoning, 4. Starter Pack, 5. Time Trial Tests, 6. Final Trial Paper, 7. Interview Techniques, and 8. Update Pack.

24 Hour support

With teachers for each UMAT specific section: Logical Reasoning, Understanding People and Non-verbal Reasoning, we offer 24-hour support in the form of phone calls and emails. Send through lists of questions for student-specific explanations and/or call and speak to one of our teachers anytime. Use this service regularly for best results.

Platinum Pack:

Students purchasing the 2010 Platinum pack will receive the 08 and 09 section books, time trial tests, and final trial papers in the post as soon as they apply. The 2010 Starter Pack will be received shortly after this and the 2010 books in January.

Starter Pack:

In 2008 NIE introduced the all new Starter Pack to kick start every enrolled students Prep instantly. Two years on the Starter Pack is an integral component of our balanced UMAT Prep programs containing imperative information for aspiring Students, Teachers and Parents. Focussed on strategic information pertaining to the UMAT, Interviews, Universities and Preparation the 2010 NIE SP also contains a half UMAT practice exam with answers and initial prep hints and tips for each of the three UMAT Sections. The SP is supplied free with any NIE course or can be purchased independently for $50.

If you are considering university applications or entrance for Medicine, Dentistry, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy or Optometry at either Australian or New Zealand Universities then in most cases the UMAT must be considered as an integral part of your preparation and planning.

Established in 1999 the National Institute of Education (NIE) conducts UMAT Preparation Courses aimed at developing the skills and strategies required to improve your UMAT score, and is the ONLY UMAT training provider to have Governmental Department of Education funding.

UMAT is no different to any other test, assessment or performance. In many cases, preparing for UMAT has proven to be the deciding factor in successfully being offered an interview. For future medicine hopefuls the UMAT exam may be the toughest and most important exam of their lives - be prepared!

We offer four courses across Austrailia and New Zealand which include our 8 book package containing thousands of questions and explanations, tips, tricks, and study methods, a teacher for each section of the UMAT (all having sat the UMAT themselves), 24 Hour on-going support, all new UMAT relevant questions each year, and for the Premium, Platinum and Concession courses, an intensive one day workshop which includes a trial UMAT exam under strict UMAT conditions.

The UMAT exam favours intelligence types, not intelligent people or even empathetic people. The whole process is unfair and unreasonable. Hence NIE has no ethical qualms in giving it’s students an unfair advantage.
